On Friday, we launched our very own Virtual Sports Day as this was unable to go ahead in school. Throughout the day, we set six challenges for the children and their families to join in with.
Challenge 1 – How far can you jump?
Challenge 2 – Tennis ball bounce/
Challenge 3 – Peg out your washing
Challenge 4 – Egg and spoon race
Challenge 5 – Book balance
Challenge 6 – Stand up, sit down
In total we received 778 entries and we were delighted by the response. It was great to see everyone joining in with their families and then sharing their photographs and videos with us. The classes were split into 2 teams, the blue team and the yellow team, and for every photograph/video that the children shared, they received a point for their team. At the end of the day, we went live on Facebook to share the results: the yellow team finished with 324 points, however, the blue team took the lead with 454 points. We also shared a bonus challenge to see if we could run the length of Hadrians Wall (73 miles) as a school, and we would like to thank those children who joined in as we succeeded!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Virtual Sports Day, it was amazing!
