The children in Reception made their own number line by matching numeral to quantity. First we ordered our numbers from the smallest to the largest and then we put the right amount of conkers under each number. We talked about how many conkers we added each time. We then explored what was one more and one less than a certain number. As an extension we looked at what number 11 would look like and explored moving number 1 to join the number 10 to focus on the value of 10.
