Today we learnt a new skill – how to read the temperature from a thermometer. We found out that we had to hold the thermometer in the right place and look very closely to read it accurately. We then applied this skill when investigating the question ‘Which material would make the best coat to wear to go to the Arctic?’ We made some super predictions based on our prior knowledge of materials. We enjoyed taking measurements with the thermometer, recording results and looking for patterns in our data. Our results told us that fur would be the best material for a coat as it kept the heat in for longer.
