As part of the Northern Children’s Book Festival, the children in KS2 enjoyed a very humorous visit from author Guy Bass. He had us in stitches telling us all about his childhood, the lies he was told and how he wanted to be a dinosaur when he grew up. When he read extracts from his ‘Spynosaur’ books, it became clear that all of these funny stories became the inspiration for this series. Many children were then given the opportunity to ask him some very interesting questions about his writing. After the assembly, children had the chance to meet Guy himself and buy a copy of one of his books which he signed with a unique picture. It was a brilliant afternoon and I’m sure it has inspired some of our children to write their own amazing stories!
