River Deep, Mountain High

Nov 15, 2019Geography, Year 3

This term we have begun to investigate the impact of rivers on human settlement. We worked together to decide where the best place to build a settlement would be. We found that rivers were very important, particularly in the past – humans used them for transport of goods and people, the land can be more fertile near rivers so crops grow better, people used to use them as a source of fresh water for drinking and cooking.
