Mrs Anglesea and Mrs Cox led a whole school assembly to promote walk to school week and to outline the importance of parking safely, considering the impact our behaviours may have on pedestrians and local residents.
The assembly was in response to some of the complaints we have received from our residents and our safety concerns for the safety of our community.
The timing of the assembly also supports our children taking part in the nations National Walk celebration (17 – 21 May), where pupils and grown-ups around the UK unite for one week of walking to school. As well as the added health and fitness benefits of walking to school, the challenge will help to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety as there will be fewer cars around school.
A copy of the presentation to pupils may be found on our school website – Safe Parking Around Dunston Hill Presentation
This letter was also sent to all parents / cares to share these messages to our parents and carers. – http://www.dunstonhillcps.co.uk/…/Parking-Letter-to…
