Greek street food

Nov 29, 2019Geography, Year 6

For lunch on Thursday Year 6 were treated to an authentic Greek meal kindly provided by Acropolis Street Food who set up their tent and cooked outside our classroom windows. The children ate: chicken and vegetable skewers, pitta bread and Greek salad – which was quickly devoured ! Everyone loved the experience which coincides with out history topic on Ancient Greece . George commented – “ This is the best skewer I have ever tasted! “ Whilst the girls deliberated over which elements of this modern day Greek meal may have also been enjoyed by the Ancient Greeks.  A huge thank you to the Acropolis street food team who can be found at the Quayside market on Sundays and at Tynemouth market on Saturday and Sunday.
