New Nursery

Monday 13 July 2020

Hello and good morning girls and boys! I hope you have had a lovely weekend and enjoyed some of the sunshine.

Your new teachers have been excited about this week as we welcome new friends to Nursery. We also think it’s wonderful that some of our older boys and girls are coming back to play with us in Nursery.

This week is a chance for you to get to know your teachers who will be working with you from September. We hope you enjoy the videos and the little jobs we have prepared for you to try at home. On today’s video you will meet me, Mrs Warrilow who will teach you in September, and tomorrow you will meet our key workers who are so excited to see you! We are all counting the days until we can play together in September!

Today’s task – making cloud dough:

Watch the video to find out how to make cloud dough easily using only two ingredients.  You will also find the instructions in your pack.

Click on the video link to meet Mrs Warrilow:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wGjdrTGQJk&feature=youtu.be

Your welcome pack:

Another job to do is to look through the ‘All About Me’ booklet in your pack with your grown-up and we would love to know all about you. You don’t have to do it all in one day and you can work on it over the summer holidays. Once you have completed it, please return it to school in September.

Have a wonderful day children and don’t forget to look out for your other Nursery teachers in tomorrow’s post.😊

1B – Miss Bunce’s New Class

Good morning to the new class 1B! ⭐

It’s Miss Bunce here! I am so excited to be your teacher next year, and I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you this week. I have seen lots of photos of you completing your tasks for Mrs Cassidy and other things that you have been up to when you’ve been at home! This week, it’s all about you getting to know me a little better, and me getting to know you a little better! I have made a video for you to watch, so that you can find out some things about me….
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjlFhMy0ma8&feature=youtu.be

Today, Mrs Gregory and I would love you to create a self-portrait! Inside your pack, you will find a picture frame (we’ve shared a picture of which frame to use for this task!) and this is where we would like you to get creative!

This picture is all about YOU, so how you choose to do it is your choice! You might draw it and colour with pencils, you might use paint, or even collage materials! 🎨 You can write your name in the box underneath.

Please keep a hold of this portrait so we can use it in our classroom in September. The envelope your transition week things have come in might be a handy place to keep your work!

We would LOVE to see any photographs of your work, so please send them if you can! (Grown-ups, please cover your child’s name if you do share a photograph – thanks!) we can’t wait to see your smiley faces!

🌈 Have a fantastic day! 🌈

2B – Mrs Bainbridge’s New Class

Monday 13th July

Good morning and a big hello to you all! How exciting this is that I finally get to say hello as your new class teacher and Mrs Gaulton is super excited too!  Miss Bunce has told us so many amazing things about you, we feel like we know you already!

Normally, when we are in school, we have a transition day and you would have come to visit your new classroom. As we can’t do that, we’ve got FOUR days of transition! Even better!

Today is all about getting to know each other. Watch this video to find out all about Mrs Bainbridge.  https://youtu.be/zzYW95rCpcA

Now that you’ve finished watching the video, you can open your envelope that you received on Thursday 2nd July, at your goodbye day, along with your report. Here are your activities for Day 1 of our Transition Week.

Activity one: Find the sheet with the coat of arms on it. Mrs Bainbridge showed you her example in the video. It would be lovely if you could create your own! This is a way for you to show us a bit about you. You need to think of four things about yourself that are unique to you. It might be:

  • Your favourite colour
  • Your favourite toy
  • Your favourite hobby
  • Your favourite book
  • Your best friend
  • Your family
  • Your favourite animal or pet
  • Your favourite place

Draw one in each of the four sections and then colour it in! We would love to display your coat of arms at some point during your time in Year 2 so try to make it bright and colourful.

Activity two: Find the sheet which looks like a big jigsaw piece. This is a chance for you to tell us a bit about yourself and we would also love to see some of your writing! Remember to draw a little picture of yourself in the circle on the jigsaw piece.

Activity three: In the video, you were shown lots of clues for you to try to work out some of the things Mrs Bainbridge likes. We would love you to find some objects or things that could act as clues to tell us what you like and what you like to do. Take a photo and post it in the comments and we will try to guess why you’ve chosen those items!

Even though this week is all about getting to know each other, please don’t share any personal details on Facebook.

We hope you enjoy the activities today and we can’t wait to find out all about you!  Have a marvellous Monday and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

From Mrs Bainbridge and Mrs Gaulton

2J – Miss Jobey’s New Class

Good morning and a big hello, new Class 2J! How exciting this is that I finally get to say hello as your new class teacher. I just know that we are going to have such a super year together. Normally, when we are in school, we have a transition day and you all would have come to visit your new classroom. I would have been at the door, thrilled to welcome you into our classroom. As we can’t do that, we’ve got FOUR days of transition! Today, you will be getting to know me a bit better and I have made a video for you to watch to do just that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m81TadF4_ak&feature=youtu.be Now, open your envelope that you received on Thursday 2nd July, at your goodbye day, along with your report. There are lots of things for you to do this week but here are your activities for Day 1 of our Transition Week. I really can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Activity one: Find the sheet with the coat of arms on it. I showed you my example in the video you just watched. I’ve also attached a picture of my finished one, too.

I would love you to create your own as this is a great way for you to show me some of the things you like and the things that you like to do. First, you need to think of four things about yourself. It might be: your favourite colour, your favourite toy, your favourite hobby, your favourite book, your best friend, your family, your favourite animal or pet or even your favourite place. Next, draw one in each of the four sections. Finally, colour it in! I would love to display your coat of arms at some point during your time in Year 2 so make them colourful and bright – just like our classroom.

Activity two: Find the sheet which looks like a big jigsaw piece. This is a chance for you to tell me a bit more about you and I would also love to see some of your writing! Remember to draw a little picture of yourself in the circle on the jigsaw piece – imagine how much you will have changed when you look at these jigsaw pieces at the end of Year 2!

Activity three: In my video, I showed you lots of clues. If you would like to, you could find some objects or things that could act as clues to tell me what you like and what you like to do. Take a photo and post it in the comments on Facebook and I will try and guess why you’ve chosen those items! Please remember not to share any personal information or details online, though.

Well, Year 2 (I’m sure that you feel so grown up, being called Year 2!), remember to keep your finished work from activities one and two somewhere safe, ready for September. I hope that you’re excited about our transition week and I hope that you can also get out and about this afternoon and enjoy some sunshine!

Have a super day!

🌈 Miss Jobey 🌈

Good morning 2B… soon to be 3C! I am so excited for our transition week and I have already heard lots of lovely things about you from Mrs Bainbridge. Today, I have started the week with a video telling you a little about me. Use the link to watch it.

http://youtu.be/7GS2tOaEzOY

Once you have watched the video, I would like to find out about you. You can either do this in a picture, photograph or short video and send them to our school email or keep them for when I see you in September. Please don’t share this task on our Facebook post.

I would also like you to create a picture of yourself. This could be in pen, pencil, paint, collage or any other creative way you can think of and I would love to see this task shared on our Facebook post.

I hope you enjoy today’s tasks and I look forward to seeing your pictures of yourself in our comments.

Mrs Cowan 😊

3M – Mrs McLean’s New Class

Yoo hoo! Hi everyone! Mrs McLean here. I am so excited to be sharing this last week of term with you, doing some nice tasks to get to know you. Watch my video to find out a little bit about me and my interests and watch to the end to find out what your task is for today. There should be some blank paper in your transition envelope that you can use to create a lovely poster or collage of things that interest you and are important to you. I’m really looking forward to getting to know you! Remember not to post any personal information in the comments but bring your finished drawings/collages/photos with you in September 😊

I would also like you to create a picture of yourself. This could be in pen, pencil, paint, collage or any other creative way you can think of and I would love to see this task shared on our Facebook post. Remember when we did art week and there were all sorts of ways you can create? Go for it!

4C – Miss Conway’s New Class

Good morning 3M… Soon to be 4C!  First of all, I want to tell you how excited I am to have you all in my class in September!  I have spoken to Mrs McLean and she has shared lots of lovely things about you all and I am really looking forward to getting to know you all a bit better, throughout the week.  It has been great to see so many of you posting photographs during lockdown and I have enjoyed seeing your smiley faces 😊.

Hopefully after watching my video, you will get to know me a bit better and then I have set some tasks to help me get to know you.  There are 3 activities for you to complete at some point today: writing a letter to introduce yourselves, a selfie sheet and a blank bunting for you to decorate.  You will find all of the resources that you need for your activities in the transition pack which you will have received when you visited school to say goodbye.

Please click on the following link to find out some facts about me, and for more information about the tasks:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWVUwlStx_o

I would love to see photographs of your finished bunting, so it would be great if you could post your photographs below.  If your letters include personal information, you could send a photograph through email or keep it safe until we return in September.

Today our focus is on getting to know each other. First, could you post a photograph or a message introducing yourself in the Facebook comments. Then, click on the link attached to watch a video from myself, this will tell you a little about me and will explain your tasks for today. https://youtu.be/2k84iFYalh4

Task 1: All about me selfie sheet – complete each section of the sheet and keep your sheet safe in your envelope to bring back in September so I can learn a little about you.

Task 2: All about me rainbow letter – use your selfie sheet to write me a letter, including everything I need to know about you. Make sure to include your name so I know who each letter is from. Also keep this safe and bring this back to school in September so we can share your letters.

You can choose the way you would like to decorate it you might use paint, coloured pens, pencils, paper, but please make sure they are colourful and welcoming. Bring your decorated bunting to school in September so I can use them for display.

Task 2 – Now we know all about you – it is time to find out about your friends. Complete the ‘my friends’ worksheet by drawing a photo of your friends and labelling them. You can decorate the photo frames too! 😊

Task 3 – Think about something that you really enjoy doing – it could be a hobby or something else  Use the sheet ‘Hobby Review’  and make sure you explain to me exactly why it is that you like it, what you enjoy about it and if you would recommend it to a friend. Take your time with these – there is NO rush! I will look forward to receiving them in September. Please  remember to keep the envelope that you have been given so that you can keep everything safe.

🌻Good morning to my lovely new class 5O!🌻 I am so excited to welcome you to our new class! I have heard wonderful things from Miss Whaley and I can’t wait to meet you all properly in September. This week I will be setting you tasks that you can complete at home to help me get to know you a little better.  I know this is a little different to what normally happens in school, so, I’d like you to watch the following video as I have a special message for you all… https://youtu.be/uiU7Fne9Ulk

Task 1 – Please complete the ‘all about me’ booklet. You will need to watch this link to help you with how to fold the A4 sheet into a booklet. 6P – Miss Parkin’s New Class

💙💛Happy Monday 5B💙💛

Morning 5B, Miss Parkin here! I am so excited to be taking over your daily posts this week and setting you some tasks in preparation for September when we become the all new 6P! You will have received an envelope (either when you came to say your goodbye to Mrs Berry and Mrs Ion at your walk-through or it will have been delivered to your house along with your report.) containing all you need for this week.

Reminder – You are not on Teams and there are no maths or English tasks set 😊

Ok, let’s get started! Today we have a video of me, telling you, a little bit about myself – please click the link: https://youtu.be/rl_AgiQFL9o to see for yourself. Although you have only been across the corridor, I know there will be lots for us to learn about each other.

Task 1 – In your pack you have a sheet called “My Friends”. Who we are friends with says a lot about who we are as a person as it shows what qualities we think are important in other people. Are we friends with these people because they enjoy the same hobbies as us? Are we friends with these people because they look out for us? Are we friends with these people because they make us laugh?

Draw three people who you are friends with, they don’t have to be from your class. Could you then write some words in the frames to share the qualities those friends have? See Miss Parkin’s example below to help you out!

Task 2 – In your pack you have a sheet called “My self-love blocks”. It is important to remember why you are so great as YOU! Use this opportunity to share with me what positives you see in yourself and record them in the boxes. If you want to add colour and creativity than that is up to you! Again I have done an example below to help you out and so you can learn some more about me!

Have a lovely day 5B ( keep all of your work safe in your envelope for us to share in September!)

Miss Parkin 💙💛

6R – Miss Reay’s New Class

💙💛 Happy Monday, 5O! 💙💛

Morning 50! I hope we are all fine and dandy! 😊

Miss Reay here! I am so excited to be taking over your daily posts this week and setting you some tasks in preparation for September, when we become 6R!

You should have received an envelope (either when you came to say your goodbyes to Miss Ornsby and Mrs Ion at your walk-through or it will have been delivered to your house along with your report.) containing all you need for this week.

Reminder – You are not on Teams and there are no maths or English tasks set! 😊

Now, let us begin! Today you can watch a short and sweet video of me, telling you a little bit about myself – please click the link: https://youtu.be/XKjZCKCVDZ0 to see this for yourself. Although you have only been opposite me in activity street, I know there will be lots for us to learn about each other.

Task 1:  In your pack you have a sheet called ‘My Friends’.

See Miss Reay’s example to help you out!

Task 2: In your pack you have a sheet called ‘My self-love blocks’. It is important to remember why YOU are so great! Use this opportunity to share with me what positives you see in yourself and record them in the boxes. If you want to add colour and creativity than that is up to you! Again, I have done an example to help you out and so you can learn some more about me! 😊

Have a lovely day, 5O (keep all of your work safe in your envelope for us to share in September)!

Miss Reay 💙💛
