Today, we loved looking at Dunston Diamond! Look out for it on the roads!
As mentioned in our 'Meet the Teacher' session this morning, over the next week we will be sending home your child's reading diary along with a reading book for you to share with your child. The books might be popular story books or picture books. Please spend some...
Welcome to Class RCY page. Here you can find what we have been up to and any important information or changes you need to know.
A big welcome back after the Christmas holidays and thank you for all of your kind cards, gifts and Christmas wishes! We hope you have had a fabulous family time and are looking forward to the next term in Reception, we certainly are.
This half term will see class RCY taking part in music and indoor PE lessons on a Tuesday morning whilst class RCH will complete forest school. After half term the classes will switch. Please make sure children have their PE kits in school everyday and that they have a pair of wellies to keep in school. We have a new bigger scale outdoor water area opening this week so wellies are a must! Keep an eye out for some photos.

Reading Diary and Reading Books
Your child has a dedicated reading day when a member of staff will read with them and help them to select a new reading book which they keep for the week. Please read this book with your child at home and encourage them to retell the story to you. Update your child’s reading diary to let us know how they have got on and what they liked best about the book. As well as their reading book, children also have Read Write Inc words or books to read at home too. Reading books will be changed once a week and RWI resources will be sent home on a Friday.
We ask that reading dairies are in school each day. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions then please let us know.
A big thank you and well done to everyone who completed their homework. We really enjoyed looking through the creative tasks you had completed.
New homework task boards have been given out for this half term so please look out for your child’s yellow Homework Book.
Monday 15th October – Mud Glorious Mud – Today some of our children explored the mud kitchen and made mud pies complete with gravy. They were very good at putting on their suits and they worked very well together! Dont worry, school photographs were taken this morning when all of the children were spotlessly clean! Enjoy having a look at our photographs.
