This year, on March 13th, we will be taking our school choir to Sage Gateshead to take part in this year's Spring Sing. This event is a great opportunity to showcase the talents of children from across the north east and join with others. This year, the...

Today, we loved looking at Dunston Diamond! Look out for it on the roads!
As mentioned in our 'Meet the Teacher' session this morning, over the next week we will be sending home your child's reading diary along with a reading book for you to share with your child. The books might be popular story books or picture books. Please spend some...
Welcome to Class RCY page. Here you can find out what we have been up to and any important information or changes you need to know.
This half term will see class RCY taking part in forest school sessions and although the weather is beginning to warm up a little, please ensure children have a warm coat, hat and gloves. The children are really enjoying their forest school sessions so we hope they have come home to tell you all about them.
In class we have been focusing our work around the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and the children have loved baking their own gingerbread men and making them out of clay. I’m sure you are aware that the baked gingerbread men ran away and are currently making their way around the world and sending postcards back to school to tell us about their adventures! The events have inspired the children’s own writing and we are very proud of all of their hard work.

Reading Diary and Reading Books
Your child has a dedicated reading day when a member of staff will read with them and help them to select a new reading book which they keep for the week. Please read this book with your child at home and encourage them to retell the story to you. Update your child’s reading diary to let us know how they have got on and what they liked best about the book. As well as their reading book, children also have Read Write Inc words or books to read at home too. Reading books will be changed once a week and RWI resources will be sent home on a Friday.
We ask that reading dairies are in school each day. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions then please let us know.
A big thank you and well done to everyone who completed their homework. We really enjoyed looking through the creative tasks you had completed.
New homework task boards have been given out for this half term so please look out for your child’s yellow Homework Book.
Monday 15th October – Mud Glorious Mud – Today some of our children explored the mud kitchen and made mud pies complete with gravy. They were very good at putting on their suits and they worked very well together! Dont worry, school photographs were taken this morning when all of the children were spotlessly clean! Enjoy having a look at our photographs.
