Here you will find out what we have been learning about along with what exciting things we have coming up in the future.
Year Five, I hope you have had a fantastic summer and are ready to begin your journey in Upper Key Stage Two. We have a very exciting year ahead of us and I am eager to get started and get to know you all a little better than I already do. To begin our year we will be delving into the mysterious Mayans and finding out why they were so mysterious.
Look out for our autumn term overview coming out very soon.
Homework Progress Check
Well done 5C! You’ve made the first progress check point for your creative homework. I have really enjoyed looking through your pieces of work. We have some excellent bird feeders for the Environmental Area, numerous creative stories and some fantastic Mayan facts! For those of you who have been recording the cycle of the moon, here’s hoping for some clear nights!
Please remember to bring your reading book to school everyday. We complete Read and Relax sessions everyday and then expect you to read for at least 15 minutes a day at home. This could be before you come to school or after your school day has finished. It’s always nice to snuggle up and read before going to sleep.
Your PE Kit needs to be in school everyday and you will need your swimming kit every Wednesday.
Spellings will be given on a Monday for a spelling quiz the following Monday.
Thank you to those parents who were able to make our ‘Meet the Teacher’ session this afternoon. For those who were unable to make it, our year group overview will be handed out the children. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact me.
