Our first job was to get fully into the role of the two characters from a story – the arguing brother and sister. Funnily enough, the boys and girls found this very easy indeed! Each character had a different coloured paper on which to write their ‘lines’. Our next job was to add stage directions. We found out that these parts of the text help the actors to know how to behave or how to say something and they must be written in the present tense. We added these in on yellow paper and we practised our play. The next thing we had to do was to play off the different sides of the argument about whether to go down the mysterious tunnel in a conscience alley before fully writing up our play scripts.
